Someone’s gonna eat your food…

Right before he dove off the deep end into the greatest multi-part melodrama in the history of, perhaps, recorded time, R. Kelly struck just the right balance between generic R n’ B lyrics and and very specific paranoia. “A Woman’s Threat” is not quite as bombastic and glorious as the Isley Brothers/Kels classic “Contagious”–and listen, we’re not here to argue classic status, if you disagree in this case, you are most certainly wrong…the Isleys walk on a gilded path, don’t play dumb–and it’s certainly nowhere near the absurd heights of the “Trapped in the Closet” series, but it’s pretty nice slice of theatrical R n’ B from the early aughts. Oh and it provided a pretty nice sample for 9th Wonder and that Jay-Z dude.
