All roads lead back to the Complex Soundboard it seems. Hearing our president say “Hallelujah Holla back” reminded me of the criminally underrated and too soon forgotten The White Rapper Show, a.k.a. the white version of Making the Band. Not really sure why VH1 didn’t continue this show (in my attempts to find episodes online I read a rumor that the show was, at one point, slated for a second season that never materialized). I can only assume it’s because I was the only loyal viewer. Regardless, The White Rapper Show birthed the King of the Burbs, John Brown. It saddens my heart that his name and endless array of absurd phrases have not been the stuff of greater internet legend, so–in the vein of recent posts–it gives me great pleasure to present to you the John Brown soundboard. This soundboard was made by some person/thing/supercomputer/god called “Bjernie’s Fast Food.” Clearly, this Bjernie comes from a future in which John Brown will be appreciated as the luminary that he truly is. Ghetto Revival baby!
NOTE: This post really has nothing to do with John Brown’s music. Outside of the show, I’ve heard none of it. He might be the white Rakim, I have no idea. Just wanted to note that he was a fine source of comedy–whether intentionally or unintentionally–during his time on The White Rapper Show
